The precinct will be a new landmark for Baw Baw, architecturally significant and built using the highest environmental standards, it will create outstanding economic and tourism opportunities for our region
The precinct will celebrate Baw Baw Shire's rich and diverse arts and culture scene, providing dynamic spaces to showcase visual and digital arts, first nations and local history as well as performances, events and workshops.
Ongoing activations and supporting infrastructure throughout the precinct will help grow creative industries and tourism opportunities locally; attracting new visitors to Baw Baw Shire and encouraging them to stay longer.
Baw Baw Shire Council has pledged a co-contribution of $10 million – the largest investment in a single project in our history. Council has advocated for a $10 million co-contribution from the state and federal governments
The Commonwealth Government has committed $14.5 million via the Growing Regions Program. The Victorian Government has made contributions of $3.5 million through its Growing Suburbs Fund and $1 million through the Living Libraries Fund towards this project.
Council is seeking $5 million from the Victorian Government to deliver the this transformational project to it’s full potential.
